David Hamilton

Music

David Hamilton' s vocal studies began at the North Carolina School of the Arts and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In 2001 David received both The Ron and Charlotte Payne Award at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and first place at the Music Teachers National Association competition. David has worked with The University of Miami at Salzburg, Austria; The International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel-Aviv, Israel; Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania, Italy; Tacoma Opera, Greensboro Opera, Opera Carolina, Natchez Opera Festival, Sarasota Opera, Anchorage Opera, Mercury Opera Rochester, Bronx Opera, and Great Neck Opera. David has performed Gastone and Alfredo in La Traviata; Nika Magadoff in The Consul; Edwin in Trial by Jury; Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni; Prunier in La Rondine; Lennie in Of Mice and Men; Nemorino in L' Elisir d' Amore; Josh in Out of the Rain; Fritz in L' Amico Fritz; Edgardo and Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor; Ladislav in The Two Widows; and Gepetto in Pinocchio. For the 2011-2012 Opera Carolina season, he will cover the role of Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and the role of Lenski in the North Carolina premier of Eugene Onegin. David is happily married to his high school sweetheart Amy, and is proud of his sons Banagher, 6 and Linden, 4.
