Class of 2004 was the CCS sound system operator for years. It’s not surprising, then, that he is excelling in engineering in the United States Air Force. Kenny is finishing training at Shepherd Air Force Base in TX after a rigorous basic training at Lackland AFB also in Texas. He will finish with a 3-week specialized training in Tucson, AZ. Kenny’s first duty station will be Pope AFB right here in NC, but he’s hoping for an overseas assignment after that.
2004 valedictorian at CCS, was recently inducted into the Garnet Circle, the top 25 undergraduate scholars at Erskine College in SC. Continuing her academic excellence, Lauren carries a 4.0 average while running NCAA Division II cross country at Erskine. It's not all about studying however: she sings in both Women's Chorale and gospel choir, plays intramural "ultimate frisbee," and even enjoys ballroom dancing class. She is majoring in History, thanks to the conscientious and enthusiastic teaching of her CCS teachers, she says.
May 2008 :At the Phi Alpha Theta (History Honors Society) Regionals meeting held at Georgia State University, Lauren Cross received the award for the Ancient History category for her paper "A Vow to Her Heavenly Country: The Passion of Saint Perpetua." A history major, Lauren will be graduating from Erskine College in May. Click here for more about Lauren's other awards.
Class of 1998, graduated from Bannockburn College in Franklin, TN, earning his bachelor's degree in Moral Philosophy. College activites included running (2 5k races and 2 marathons), chorus, assistant teaching, and swing dancing. He also took two college tours to Scotland and England. Jered then went on to earn his Master's Degree in Liberal Arts from St. John's College in Annapolis, MD. While there, he worked as the legislative aide to a delegate in the Maryland State Legislature. Currently Jered is teaching 7th and 10th grade history at Oak Mountain Classical School in Birmingham, AL.
Class of 2001, was a 2005 magna cum laude graduate of Wingate University in Wingate, NC. Emily majored in History with a minor in English. She was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honors Fraternity, Tau Delta Honor Society, ORAC, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Campus Outreach, in which she served in a leadership role. While at Wingate, Emily was selected to study abroad for a semester in London. Currently, Emily works at the hospital while planning to attend UNCG for a graduate degree in History with a concentration in Museum Studies in the fall of 2006.
