History of Covenant Classical School

The late David and Ann Drye, local residents and business owners, dreamed of a learning environment for their own children as well as children in Cabarrus County and its surrounding region that utilized the classical trivium method of teaching in a inter-denominational Christian setting. The Dryes began the school in 1996, with grades six through twelve and quickly expanded it in 1998, to include grammar school classes as well.

david and anne dryeIn 1999, Mr. and Mrs. Drye donated the sixteen acres and the million dollar facility which houses Covenant Classical School’s original building today. Before installing the drywall, Mr. Drye invited CCS students and families to come in to write scripture on all of the studs throughout the building. Dedicated families have ensured the school’s continued success through tuition, donations, and fundraising

Today, the school community enjoys the fruit of their labor, thanking God for the sacrifice they made to make Covenant Classical School possible.
